How To Play Live Roulette
Roulette is the simplest table game available in our casino. This game of chance has a betting layout with the numbers 0-36 (including a 00). The croupier will let you know when it’s time to place your bets, and a timer will make it clear how long you have to do so. Then, the croupier will spin a ball around a wheel with all 38 digits, and the ball will land on one winning number. If you bet that number, you win.
Roulette Bets
All roulette bets can be classified as inside or outside bets. The two categories vary in terms of risk vs. rewards, and consequently appeal to different types of players. Inside bets are inherently riskier and offer higher payouts as a result. Outside bets, on the other hand, are more conservative, offering modest payouts to complement the low risk.
Betting on single numbers, or groups of numbers up to a maximum of six, constitute the inside bets. An easy way to think of inside bets has to do with the placement; you’re putting your casino chips insidethe betting rectangle. Betting on large groups of numbers (12-18) constitute the outside bets. You’ll find the placement for these on the outside of the betting rectangle. Let’s take a look at the types of bets you can make, including their payouts and win percentage.
Inside Bets
Straight Bet
Betting on a single number garners the highest payout in roulette. You can make up to $17,500 if you win a Straight bet on max. But these bets also have the lowest chance of winning (2.63%).
Split Bet
You can spread out the risk by opting for a Split bet instead of a Straight bet. This is a bet on two numbers that are side by side on the layout. To do this, put a chip on the line that divides two numbers and it will split the bet between them, decreasing the risk and the payout ratio. The chance of winning jumps to 5.26%.
Street
Street bets include three neighboring numbers that form a row on the betting layout. To make a Street bet, place the chip on the external line at the end of the row. You have a 7.89% chance of winning any given Street bet.
Corner
Four numbers that form a square can all be covered by one chip through a Corner bet. Simply put the chip in the inner corner, and it will cover all four numbers. This bet gives you a 10.53% chance of winning.
Top Line
The Top Line bet is available only with American Roulette. This five-number wager includes the numbers 0, 00, 1, 2, and 3. This bet has a 13.16% win rate.
Line
The inside bet with the lowest payout and least risk is the Line bet, which includes six numbers. Line bets are essentially two Street bets side by side, which you can bet on with a single chip. The win rate for Line bets is 15.79%.
Outside Bets
Reds/Blacks
For close to a 50% chance of winning (47.37% to be exact), bet on all the red or black numbers on the board by using the red or black diamond icons on the betting layout. These 18-number bets pay even-money.
Evens/Odds
Alternatively, you can bet on all the Even or Odd numbers on the board for the same payout and win percentage.
Lows/Highs
Another way to bet on almost half of the wheel is to bet on Lows (numbers 1-18) or Highs (numbers 19-36). All the even-money bets come with a 47.37% win rate with Roulette.
Dozen
For double the payback that you’d get from the even-money outside bets, you can bet on the 1st 12 numbers, the 2nd 12 numbers or the 3rd 12 numbers. The win rate drops down to 31.58%, but you’d get bigger payouts.
Columns
The betting layout comprises three columns of numbers. For a 2:1 payout, you can bet on any of the three columns. They contain 12 numbers each and have the same win rate as the Dozen bets.
